Budweiser Series competition tight By Tom Griffith VALENCIA, CA, OCT. 7 The 10th Annual Budweiser Summer Night Motocross Series under the lights at Indian Dunes Cycle Park is nearing history. Produced by American Motocross Enterprises, titles are hardly secure, as the top competitors continue their regular trek to the Dunes in hopes of nailing down the coveted title "Series Champion." With only 17 of the classes el igi ble for series Championships, Beginners must move to Junior status lo qualify. At least ten of the class championships were still undecided before tonight's race and more may be undecided after results are added. . In the 125cc junior ranks, Guy Giffin and Paul Thompson are running 1-2 as well as running the top two positions in the overall series. With a scant 50 points separating these young lions, Giffin, aboard his CRF Honda, muscled his way to a perfect I-I score for the overall win. Keeping everyone honest was the KXl25 of Glen Gordy, sliding his mount into a 2-2 performance for the second-place finish ahead of the hardcharging Paul Thompson. Thompson experienced his share of difficulties in both motos, finally putting his Honda into fourth and third for third
