ah-Alask.Canad. Northern California-N MORE RECORDS FROM TEAM JARDINE The World's Fastest And Quickest Drag Race Motorcycles Use Jardine even though shaken up he decided to race. "I still don't feel right," Sun admitted later. "I've been riding all night, but I'm definitely fuzzy." un started the 1983 season with Maico put is now on his own. "I've begun marketing a line of my own riding dothing, and I'm getting more involved in the business end of it," said Sun. "This is kind of an awkward transition, because I don't really have the time LO devote to either one as much as I need. I still like LO ride, and probably will for another 15 years or ,so. But the really hard, intense type of competition I've done in the past is p'retty much behind me." ! The starting line of the first 500cc xpert moLO included a stilI-recovering Sun. MacDonald shot into _!j1e lead with Sun getting a mid-pack start. Sun was unbelievable, passing everyone to take the lead by the second lap. He kept the lead, styling off thejumps and keeping the specta~ors entertained while MacDonald held onLO second. Bruce Stingley (Hon) took a distant third wi~h defending champ Yochum in fourth. The second moLO saw Sun in the lead from the start with the same finish order as moto one. Even though he linished second today, MacDonald pulled into the pits with a large grin. He just won his first state championship. Sun holeshot moLO one of the 250cc Expert class with Davis right on hi fender. Sun pulled off the track to check the bike and re-entered in fourth place but by the halfway mark had worked his way back into the lead. Davis dueled with Roskelley during the entire moLO but was able to hold onto second. With the bike checked out this time Sun flew into the lead of moto two and left everyone far behind. There weren't many position changes in the top five with Roskelley and Munson besting Davis at the finish. Davis played it safe and with his 2-4 finishes wrapped up his amazing fourteenth championship. The start of the 125cc Expert class belonged to Butler, but he was soon rpassed by a hard-riding Munson folrowed closely by Davis. Davis dogged Munson the entire moLO but just wasn't able LO get enough steam for a pass. Munson took the checkered with Davis and Butler right behind. MOLO two saw Munson pull away from the pack. From the start Mun.son rode fast and smooth and made no mistakes. He crossed the finish line and became the 125cc Expert state champion. • Results SUNDAV MINI NOV: 1. Da.id Cool< (Kaw); 2.
