Spillway Part and its workers ran the event, tge Elk members sold tickets and a variety of food and drink as well as providing flagmen for the events. Businesses, corporations, organizations and individuals provided a mound .of contingency prizes and 100% of the proceeds went to help handicapped cbildren. The benefit drew a whopping 206 riders, including the Over The Hill Gang for riders 30 years of age and over, and the Old Timers for riders 40 and over. Mini Intermediate honors went to Alan Pierce, while Mike Bitner took back-to-back wins in the Mini Junior class. Bitner was followed to the line by Frank Dominguez and Paul Blomquest, The Old Timers divisions went as follows: Bob Milner first in the Masters; Dan Sanchez and Gabe Gutirrez first and second in the Junior Masters; Chuck ation first in the Experts; Chuck Dalton and Bob Smart first and second in the Amateurs; and Oren Spahn and George McCauley first and second in the Novices. The first three spots in the 125cc Junior division were captured by Brad Toms, Alan Pierce and Troy Pryor. The l25cc Intermediate class went to Tony Toste followed by Mike Knapp and Eddie Guajardo. The l25cc Pro winner was Kevin Field with Terry Hampton second, The large 250cc Junior class was won by Curt James.
