Brock Suter led the Junior Class attack with an improved style and came away with first place brass and a perfect I-I ride. Ronnie Rosales rode a hard· fought race in both molOS and paced the field with a solid 2-2 score and second overall ahead of David Mercado in third and Doug HuslOn in fourth. As the I25cc Pros were called 10 the line, AME welcomed back Yamahasupport rider Doug Gentry. Doug, returning from the wars of other club racing, settled right in and walked away with the win in molO one. Frazier Park's Andy Ellis charged through the pack and was closing on Gentry in the final stages but settled for second. In molO two Ellis seemed pre· occupied with giving a handicap LO the field and got a poor start. With the field narrowed by first moLO DNFs, Ellis had little problem despatching the competition and heading after the fleet Gentry. Superquick reflexes had put Gentry solidly inlO first ·in the 14-lap go, and he was to remain there until two laps from the end. Tiring from the heat and being a little out of shape LO try LO ride both the 125 and 250cc classes, Gentry was caught by a determined Ellis and had LO complete molO two in second place. With the tie-breaker going 10 Ellis, Gentry took home second money ahead of the balance of the field. The 250cc Pros rolled out a full contingent of 14 of SoCal's finest. The Yamaha ofJohn Whelchel, the Honda of Eric Kehoe and the Yamaha of Las Vega' Chris Howard dominated the first moto. Finding the hot line in molO one, John Whelchel showed Kehoe the way so well that Eric reeled in the Yamaha in molO two and passed for the lead and the overall win. Whelchel was a little startled but was able to fend 0[£ the hard charging Jim Coffey, who wrapped up third money with this 6-3 tally. Results ". 28 PEE WEE: 1. Jeff Willoh (Y.m). JR CYCLE tNT: 1.
