,
July is the 71st Anniversary issue of MOTORCYCLIST magazine and our
annual touring issue. This will be a very special issue. But, the real news is
that with this issue MOTORCYCLIST will be 100% street editoria l.
When we started out in 1912 there were only street bikes. The streets were
not always paved , but the bikes were all the same. In the 1970's, dirt bikes
became a very important part of the motorcycling world , and we responded
with more editorial space for dirt bikes.
MOTORCYCLIST is the first of the general-interest motorcycle publications
to realize that this now very speciali zed marketplace demands very targeted
editor ial. Our plan is simple: In December 1982 we launched DIRT RIDER
magazine to cover dirt bikes, and in July 1983 MOTORCYCLIST becomes the
largest-circulation all-street publication in the country.
We now serve the motorcycl e enthusiast with two excellent, well-targeted
magazines. No matter what your interest we talk to you with two great books.
Look for the new MOTORCYCLIST and DIRT RIDER on your newsstand, or
