"Ward was getting longer flights
over the jumps ..:'

The usual rule of racing is
that you don't get much traction
in the air. But since the water
had to be drained off St. Louis
International Raceway before
the track could be found, traction wasn't the problem.
In one of the muddiest
races of the Wrangler Series,
Jeff Ward took his "factory pilot"
license seriously; and flew his
KX125 Kawasaki to an overall
win in the 125ccclass. By spending a fair amount of each lap
above the sticky stuff Jeff easily
won both motos.With the fastest
lap times of the day he put
about 15 seconds of air between
him and the pack in mota one,
and 40 seconds in mota two.
Combined with team mate
Kent Howerton's 1-4 day; this
gives Kawasaki the series lead
in both the 125cc and 500cc
classes.
Which brings up the best
reason for being on a green
bike -to keep from flying
"stand-by"
Kawasaki
Let the good times roll.
