Chandler wa s putting on a good show, but the slic k con ditions p ro ved to be too much as h e crashed h is way o u t a few laps later. Glover was m akin g time on Howerton th ro ugh th e ca mel backs, and came a lo ngside to do battle on th e la st lap. Shortl y th ereafter, Glover slid ou t in a co rner and H owerton cru ised to the win. Glover remained in seco nd , fol lo wed by Chandler a nd Breker. Chandler brushed h imself o ff a nd once again jumped o u t fro nt in th e second moto, besting Glover , Breker, Kin g a nd Howerton. By th e en d o f two laps, " Magoo" had pulled 20 yards ahead of Glover , with Breker , King a n d How erton sp re a d o u t behi nd . Glover then began to m ove up to challenge Chandler and snaked arou n d on th e sixth lap. King made h is wa y a ro u n d Breker a s Howerton held fifth. Glover had moved ahead of Chandler by three seconds on th e next lap, but Chandler began to close the gap. Glover found himself all alone out front soon after, as Chandler racked up another crash but managed to remain in second. Glover sailed through the finish line 36 secon d s ahead of Chandler, King and Howerton . Glover 's strong 1-2 finishes gave him the overall win over Howerton. 125cc National 18 Team Honda 's Johnny " 0 Show" O 'Mara made h is wa y through th e first comer slop ahead of Ward, Honda Support rider Erik Kehoe and Yamahamounted Mark Flesia. Barnett suffered from a poor start and wa s about 30th, but bega n to rapidly move up. O 'Mara a nd Ward en gaged in a very close battle and were quickly pulling away from th e pack. Barnett's wild charge had put him into sixth by the end of two laps. O 'Mara began to build a slight lead over Ward on the fourth lap, but Ward was getting longer flights over , the jumps and began to close. Keh oe was a distant third and Team Yamaha's Ron Lechien had moved up to fourth ahead of Barnett. O 'Mara and Ward came through the starting area and Ward pulled up as they rounded thefirstcorner. Ward , was making time over O 'Mara through the jumps and leaped out front by the next corner.
