As Frank came to the stand a nd stood behind the podium, a voice in th e back called o~ t "sta n d u p !" to en d th e cere rnomeso C(') 00 ,0') ...... ~ 0') ...c u l-. es ~ Graham; Pearson play for play at Rams' playday - By Bill Spencer HOLLISTER, CA, FEB . 13 It's a rare occasion to fin d a day off for any of the regular touring members of the AMA/ Camel Pro Series. but just a week after th e opening rounds at the Houston Astrodome , the likes of Ricky Graham and Scott Pearson, along with speedway ace Buddy Robinson, joined in a Monterey Bay Rams M.C. fun da y at the State Vehicular Recreation Area at Holl ister Hills. John Mason gets most of the credit, and along with many Ram's members, th ey had the largest-ever turnout for this fun day. Buddy Robinson won - the Passenger Pickup Final with Rick Graham doing a leap worthy of a ballet great. The idea was to run across a length of tr ack , jump on a running motorcycle, ride back to the pickup point and in the m idst of the turn, the passenger jumps on an d both ride to the finish line. While most passengers stood next to the turn cans, Graham backed up 10 feet and when Robinson made the turn, Ricky made the big leap, luckily lighted on the right spot and off they went for th e win. R yan Seidel was the best in the Potato Pickup. Yours tru ly won the heat , but couldn ' t handle the starch in the main. Steve Kausanovich was tops in the Backward Push. Graham and hi s newest girlfriend, Lisa, did the treat of riding a special 60 yard course in and around some trees in just over 35 seconds, defeating his dad who won last year by about a second. All the while they . were riding with a sack over the head of the rider and th e girl directing in what is billed a s the Blind Man 's Race. Scott Pearso n an d his Champion Yamaha were fas test through the timed loop that wa s about three miles long, up and around one hill. Jeff Weimer won the Balloon Bust, but only after a hand to hand combat with Paul Pearson in what was a great day of fun . .' . J' Preston, Wargo return and win at SHRMX By The Ranchhands BR ENT WO O D, CA, FEB. 20 Mike Preston and Bryan Wargo were among a group of riders returning to Sand Hill Ranch to prepare for the upcoming Budweiser and Contra Costa Honda Series.
