Although the class lacked quantity, it certainly did not lack quality. In the first mota, Jaime Killion (Ya!Jl) ~ook the lead right from the beginning and managed to hold on to it for a first mota victory. However, this was not an easy task for him since he had Larry Hughes (Han ) and Royce Danner (Kaw ) following close behind him in second and third. Floyd Robbins (Yam ) on the other hand, had a little trouble, tak ing a spill on one ofthe sand straightaways. In th e second moto, everything seemed to have turned a ro u nd, with Robbins taking the lead right from the start, Danner taking second, Hughes taking third and Killion taking fourth. Since the points for all four riders were identical, the second moto winner, Robbins, and Danner, took home th e money. H owev er , th e Experts were not the onl y a tte ntion getters to be found. The 125cc Intermediate clas s had quite a bit going for th em selves. The first rnoto was tak en by Jackie Homer (H a n ), followed closel y b y Tom Hamilton ( Han) and Joel Stone (H a n ). The second mota was a thrill a minute with action at several locations o~ the track , not always in spectator view. You could never be certain who would come out in the lead from the back section. Once again, the points were identical, so the second mota finishes determined the winners. Mike Ma ley (H a n) , Lee Uribe (Han ) a nd Tom Hamilton (Ha n) could be foun d with both smiles and trophies wi at th e end of the day . • Results BEGINNE R: 1. Serry Sleugh,er (Vem): 2.
