Clear weather and fast track conditions inspired Andy J efferson to capture first place money for the day at Sunrise CN 00 0') • Rick Rodgers (above) flew through the night for the 250cc Pro win at Corona. "Hot Rod" Brand (below) was second 125 and third 250cc Pro. • Moto IWO promised 10 be another hard fought bailie between Rodgers and Brand. As expected, the two were again neck and neck for the lead. Jack ScOIl (Yam) was . a close third, fol lowed by Greenway. Rodgers was holding back Brand's hard charge, but th e fight ended when Brand ran into a downed rider and dropped ba ck to third . Greenwa y took over second spot wh ile Brand had to hold back SCOIl. In th e end it was Rodgers who took th e win followed by G reenwa y, Brand a nd SCOIl. Chris H einrich (Ya m) also had to put up with heavy pressure from Brand, this time in th e 125cc Pro cla ss. H einrich ran awa y with the win in th e fir st m ot o just a hea d o f SCOIl Wilk in son a nd Brand. In t he seco nd m oto, H ei nri ch grabbed the holesh ot in front of Brand a nd Wilkinson. Not bad for a Mini Expert. johnny Ray gave Mom and Dad a cause to celebrate, for the first time in recent memory he stayed on his bike throughout both 125cc Novice rnoios. Ted Sruebener and Tim Riley kept ant ici pa ting one of Johnny's patented preemy dismounts so th ey co u ld get past him, bUI they were doomed to disappointment. Ray ra n a wa y with both mOIOS. Beginner Jim Peterson is catching on fast and gelling tougher with each outing. He dem onstrated this by going one-two for th e 125cc Beginner win. Looking outstanding also wa s Ron Mill er with tw o great hol eshots and two second pl a ce finish es. The Expert class saw Ron Cl awson begin things by leading th e pack.
