Oddly enough, Goki didn't go out to the various recreational parks or tracks and promote their new found wounder; word of mouth took care of that. When you purchase a Goki Electric Start Kit , the first thing you will notice is the quality of t he components. Nothing is spared, as quality is spot on . The kit contains the main starter .casting, cranking motor mount flange , cranking motor, ring gear, starting solenoid, all the wiring, starting switch, battery box, speed hub spacer, detailed instructions and a complete nuts and bolts package along with two Allen wrenches . Something else you will no tic e which in many cases is a m ain concern, especially when you' re order ing by mail - is the instructions, the most complete set of instructions you could ask for. Goki holds you r hand right th rough the entire process and never assumes the buyer knows anything ,about taking his Odyssey apart . The instructions also come with four pages of illustrations that show the bu yer where every nut and bolt goes. Instructions are in three parts: Part one - Engine removal , starter kit assem bly, engine reinstallation ; Part ·two - Solenoid , battery box and star, ting switch installation; Part three Electrical connections. Then th er e is the final check list, to insure and remind you that everything is just right. By followin Goki 's instructions to a "T ," it should take onl y about two hours to complete the project, if you know nothing about taking apa rt an odyssey. If you 're the fullblown racer type conscious of weight , it might make a difference, but only in your head . But then again, it only takes one time stalling the motor and losing valuable time getting in and out of your Odyssey to cu re that. If you just drive for recreational fun , whether it be in the sand dunes or turning your wife lose and/or son /daughter, you shouldn't be without one. It 's just a matter of pushing a button, and presto, you 're off having fun . The second consideration is price, $179 which goes up to $198 March 31 due to inflation. Investment is the best way to look at it. Weighing your pri orities, do you want to have fun all day, or do you want to spend part of that time getting in and out starting you r motor? The Goki start er kit is like a microwave oven . It only takes on e tim e pushing that button , saving time and enjoying it that you come to realize, "How could I have lived without it?" If you're thinking about upgrading your Od yssey, the elect ric start kit should be at the top of you r list. A couple other notes should be taken. If at anytime you r starter fai ls, you still have the option of using your pull starter , which is not disconnected when the electric starter is pu t on . Goki backs their product 100 % .
