Klaudt held a steady line in th ird pl ace th roughout the entire rn oto with H all , Lan ce Ri ch o tt e (En u mclaw Suz ) a n d Mik e Larson (High land Hon ) trailing. Moto two, Anderson ga ted poorl y, and Thornton took advantage to blast the pack with an ea rly lead, one that was str etch ed and seem in gly ou t of reach for the Moto-X Fox rider. Anderson moved through th e quagmire to snag a third place at th e flag behind Thornton and Klaudt. Fourth went lo Kenny Almquist (En u m claw Suz ) and fifth lo flat tracker Lars Trulson (Federa l Way Suz ). The Open Pro class was the smallest of the three Pro classes. but had the least DNFs. The bigger bikes had th e least difficulty getting aro u n d th e ' sloppy track which had mud to the cases . Larson smoked off the line in moto one over Mark Gregson (Yamhill Yam ) who rode a 1980 Yam aha ' and Ch ristian. The three o ut -cl assed th e pack to pull aw ay. U p front it was a Larson/Gregson duel , p ro ving th a t Gregson is ca pa ble of a co meback after a long layoff. Larson pulled a way in th e later go in g, but G regson held o ff hot-sh o t ride r C h ristian lo th e fla g to take seco nd. Fourth went to Moen (Skagit Yam ) a nd fifth to Eu gen e Tom (Aurora Cycle ). Larson agai n went to h is fam ilia r position at th e sta rt of mo to two . Christian held a steady p ace in second all th e wa y but co u ldn' t ca tch Lars on wh o was unstoppabl e and ga ve a ll th e rid ers in th e cla ss one view of h im (fro m behi nd)!
