CARLSBAD, CA, FEB. 7
Tommy Gaian, along with Dean Sundahl,
captured the fourth running of the threewheel Continental Moto-sport Club/Preston
Petty Golden State Series at Carlsbad today.
T he ATV track at Carlsbad
Racewa y p roved to be quite
challenging as you cou ld banzai
it through the corners in a high

flying, sideways style. The track was
excellent.
With the Parker 400 the previous ,
day, the 250cc Pro Class was minus
two riders, Mark "Wax" Weixeldorfer
and Mike Chester. They flew OUI
right after the race wi th "Captain"
Wes McCoy for a ha lftime show in
the Houston Astrodome. Sundahl and
Curtis Sparks, on the other hand,
flew six hours by truck to Carlsbad in
a n attempt to hold their series point
lead.
The first race oftheday was combination of the 0-200cc Modified and
Stock. As the flag was dropped it was
Honda's Gaian jumping out front
followed by Marty Han on a 3-B
Lightning 175 Yamaha and Prem ier
Yamaha 's Chuck Hatzfield. By lap
