In By Lance Bryson Searle, WA, FEB. 13-14 Some 35,000 fans witnessed the three-wheel a n d Odysse y attacks of " Dy n o" Dean Sundahl, Curtis Sparks, Eddie Brown, Paul Breunig and Mike Hawkings a t the Seattle ... (Top to bottom) Curtis Sparks (43) took the gold while Mickey Dunlap (9 ) placed second in 200cc action. Hillside Honda's Eddie Brown topped Super Modified. Allan Tad (1 3 8 ) takes it high. Jim Huff (23) leads Super Stock. . 4 Kingdome Supercross. Finally th e ATVs were no t just a halftime show, b ut a fullblow n, get do wn , no holdsbarred show. The program went something like this: The AMA Wrangler® Supercross series race Saturday at 8:00 p.m.• which attracted 30.974 peop le (some 20,000 stayed) and ended by II p.m. Just before the Main event got underway a nnou nce r Larry H uffman in formed the crowd not to leave their sea ts. three-whee lers were com ing their way. To say th e least n ob od y knew what to ex pect. Whe n the 21 qualifiers for the 'Do m e were brough t ou t, even the motocross guys were awe-struck. By the end of the main, the three-wheelers were primed and ready. Huffman. the number one announcer in the world. kep t the crowd setting at the edge of th eir seats wa iti ng for the start. 0 Tonight, however, just the threewheelers were racing; the Odysseys would run on Sunday. The th ree-wh eelers lined u p in two rows, 250s in the front. 200s in the back. As the green flag was dropped, Sundahl jumped out in front followed by Mark "Wax" Weixeldorfer, Alan Todd, Mike Chester an d Kell y Jo h nso n. The crowd roared wit h exci trnen t, th ey loved it. 30 Seconds la ter th e 200s were let go. Spa rks took th e lead at the dro p o f th e flag with Sco tt Liurn, Micky Dunlap, Derek Dahl an d Stephen Clevela nd follo wing in hot pursuit. Si nce th is event was pa rt of the Yamaha Gold Cup series, 3- B Light ning Yama ha mountd Steve Wright had the most pressure on him to do wel l.
