the main, the three-wheelers were
primed and ready. Huffman. the
number one announcer in the world.

Tonight, however, just the threewheelers were racing; the Odysseys
would run on Sunday.
The th ree-wh eelers lined u p in two
rows, 250s in the front. 200s in the
back. As the green flag was dropped,
Sundahl jumped out in front followed
by Mark "Wax" Weixeldorfer, Alan
Todd, Mike Chester an d Kell y
Jo h nso n. The crowd roared wit h
exci trnen t, th ey loved it. 30 Seconds
la ter th e 200s were let go. Spa rks took
th e lead at the dro p o f th e flag with
Sco tt Liurn, Micky Dunlap, Derek
Dahl an d Stephen Clevela nd follo wing in hot pursuit. Si nce th is event
was pa rt of the Yamaha Gold Cup
series, 3- B Light ning Yama ha mountd Steve Wright had the most
pressure on him to do wel l. He had
gotten a bad start. and began making
his move to the front of th e pack.
