Its wide, predictable powerband andits exclusive, four-valve Pentroof" head get plenty ofpower to the ground immediately. The result is better, more tractable power. Recently, iceracers have taken that power andused it to totally dominate their sport. Garth Brow Scott Drake andTedBoody 24 tookfirst, second andthird in the 1982 Invitational Indoor Ice Race Series. All aboard XR250-engined machinery. In fact, nine ofthe top ten finishers in the series rode XR250-engined motorcycles. And thanks to the Honda Ice Racing Awards Program, all those guys wereable to tum their ice racing into cold cash. Eventhoughthe programdidn't requirethe winners to ride Hondas, 14out of " the 15contestants chose Hondas anyway. And left the competition out in the cold.
