TEN YEARS , AGO Steve Stackable alternated between a Yamaha 125 MX and a 500 BSA and took both the 125cc and Open Expert classes at a motocross in Lockhart , TX . Stackable's main opposition in the 125c c ranks was provided by Kent Howerton (Yam ), who won the first moto but ultimately suffered from crashes in the final two heats. In the big bores, Jack Hicks and his second to ChayZed finished Stackable's Beezer. (PLEASE PRINT) Number one 0·37 Trailbike rider Terry Clark took on the rnotocrossers at Bay Mare. Riding a Harley-Davidson in the 125cc Senior class , Clark rode to a 1-2-1 finish for first overall, defeating Bultaco riders Ken Zahrt and Brad Blair, NAME AMA Pro Novice sensation Steve Hernandez (ass) continued to dominate the professional indoor short track circuit, topping both the Trophy Dash and main event in the Yamaha Silver Cup at the San Francisco Cow Palace. Jeff Ward became the first rider in the history of Saddleback Park to scale the Matterhorn on a 100cc motorcycle. The Prospectors M.C. held a 0-37 enduro about 20 miles northeast of Barstow, and the riders' instructions mentioned "waterproo fing ." The riders thought they were kidding. They weren't. Pat Hennen rode a Honda to victory in the 500cc Expert class of a scrambles in Lodi , CA , followed by Jim Saitone (Mai) and Randall Booth (BSA).
