The enduro was divided into two separate runs, with overall and class winners each day. District points were awarded each day, but Golden State points were awarded on your overall standing at the end of two days. Saturday Hi-Desert Kawasaki-sponsored Tracy Walters once again proved that a small bike can get the job done, hy taking his second overall win, and his fourth 200cc A win of the year, with a score of 1/07. Just missing out on his first district overall was KRW /Super Seer/Kal· Gard/DMG Maico-sponsored Garner Palenske, with a score of 1/56. Even though he did not win the overall, he still won the 250cc A class, which was all he needed to lock up the number •• , one plate in the 250cc class for the second year in a row. Can-Am·mounted Greg Newland put in his best ride of the year, losing 1/72, for third overall and first Open A, with Jon Miller dropping two, on his way to second Open A and fifth overall, while Nelson Bros.lHuskysponsored Dave Bertram made the trip from up north worthwhile, losing three points, good for third in the Open class. In the 250cc A class, Palenske was followed by Can-Am-mounted Craig Lair, who put in his best ride since becoming an A rider, with a score of 1/87. In the third slot was KTM· mounted Jaime Litton, carding a three. Behind 200cc A class winner Walters were Joe Bonnello (6), who has just moved up to the A ranks, and Hesperia's Ron Reinholdson (6), aboard his Kawasaki. The Senior class number one plate race tightened up a whole bunch, when Yamaha-mounted Ron Fry (5) took the win. Honda·mounted Jay Tullis (8) slipped to a tie in the point standings when he ended up second behind Fry. Finishing third was Don McNamee, with a score of nine. The contenders for the number one Four-stroke plate were not in the top three, as Tom Getzfrid (5) thumped his way to the win, followed by John Poor, Jr. (6), and Yamaha-mounted Mike Haney (7). The course consisted of three loops. The first loop was 27 miles long, and went to the sand hills. The second loop was 40 miles long, and went on some trails out around Charlie's Place. while the third loop was 43 miles long, and
