compete for .the same money. Only
after he had dominated the fint moto
was there a complaint from one who
didn't attend the meeting and one who
didn't listen well enough to object to
the situation. Jim sat out the second
moto to settle the problem.
Behind Anderson on his Yamaha in
the fint U5cc Pro moto, Kevin White
(Yam) held securely to second place
while the battle was left to settle third
spot. Kevin Ford (Suz) held on for a
third of the race before falling. Robby
Clark (Yam) inherited the spot. Craig
Roberts (Hon) and Craig Lambert
(Yam) scrambled for fourth until
Roberts went down and Randy
Crisman (Suz) was putting the move
on Lambert when his vehicle went sour.
At the flag. Ford had moved by them
all to regain fourth.
Moto two started out Anderson,
White and Ford. Ford pulled off with
a DNF halfway through, leaving Clark
in punuit of White. There was some
distance between them which Clark
methodically ate up until he pulled his
pass on the next to the last lap. Hey,
Moml He didn't fall off! He's just been
doing that to torment you.
Lyle Schappert (Mai), who followed
Anderson in the fint Open Pro moto,
led the parade in the second. Probably
the biggest excitement in this class
came at the end of the fint moto when
Jerry Eben (Yam) took a line over the
finish line that shot him off the .side of
the hill into a heap. He was just picking himself up when Mike Matt (Yam)
shot by the flag on the same line and
clipped Even. Strange they should
both pick out the same line; it wasn't
that good.
Bob Plympton looIr.ed as if he and
his new Suzuki were born for each
other as he rode away from everyone in
the fint l!5Occ Intermediate race. The
scramble behind him wound up with
Lewis Swan (Suz) in second and Ken
Menereau third.
When they finally got everyone started together for the second round,
Plympton looked good going around
the fint tum, a bit on the outside.
Well, someone got under him, and he
wound up in the bushes climbing a
tree while everyone else went by. He
chopped off twO to three riden a lap,
and it looked as if he could pull off a
spectacular win, but his front brake
started locking up on him. He made
attempts to adjust it on the fly but
wound up settling for a sixth. Up
front, Pat Nellis (Yam) had taken the
lead. but Mersereau was on his tail all
the way to the flag.
The 1l!5ccJunion mixed it up well,
too. Steve Jones (Suz) led wire to wire
in the fmt mota. Brian Kragerud
(Yam) held second all the way while.
Jason Kanan (Suz) worked up to third.
In the second mota, Mike Ingebo
(Yam) led Jones and Mike Lee (Yam).
Fint Jones went to the lead, then Lee
moved Ingebo back to third. Lee de·
cided if he was going to be out there
with a cast on his hand, he should
make it worthwhile so he took the
lead. It looked secure for Lee, but on
the last lap, Ingebo picked Jones off
and gave just the right spurt at the flag
to steal the win from Lee.
