Dennis Smith and Chris Steward were at it again in the Open Box Stock run, side by side through many of the turns, in what appeared to be a repeat of the Open Production race. But the tables turned this time, and Steward won it after quite a fight with Smith. Danny Cae had to do battle with the ladies in the 200cc GP race, as his competition was Jill Keenan and Chris Baue.r, two exceUem women riders. In the end, though, Cae was the victor, with a six second lead over second place Keenan. Bauer took home the third place trophy. - LAGUNA SECA TOUR SUNDAY, JULY 19,1981 00 0') TOUR PACKAGE INCLUDES: Results • Discount race tickets SIDECARS: 1. RobenoIFech"'" (Kawl; 2. Everyone was anticipating a full on battle between Mike Beier and Todd Peterson in the l25cc Pro race but the pair let the gold slip right through their hands, Dave Hamada had the only consistent moto by moto score to take top money in that class. Tim Lunde beat out a 250cc Pro prack that was so inconsistent that none of the riders even came close to Tim's poim SCOTe. And in the final event of the everiing the fans got to see a change of pace leader in the 500cc Pros. Scott Johnson. Beier acknowledged the fact that Ascot was Todd Petenon's track, but in the first moto he made an attempt to change that. Beier had a clean lead and took the win. In the battle for second Hamada ove, rcame the threat that Robbie Nolin was putting forth. Peterson didn't get a good start and was trapped in fourth place. John Chwastylr.. who took a king size spill last week, appeared as if he had not yet fuUy recovered from that fall. Chwastyk had a poor 12th place finish in the first moto. However, Chwastyk developed a surge of speediness in the second moto, running out &ont on his'Suzuki. The closest man to him was Hamada and they secured first and second while the real contest was for third. Bejer followed Hamada until Petenon executed a fantastic pass on the last comer to get around him. Hamada took the overaU win, his first Pro win this season at Ascot. FoUowing him were Beier, Petenon, Nolin and Tim CALIFORNIA YAMAHA DEALERS ASSOCIATION TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THESE PARTICIPATING DEALERS 12131289·5301 lawndale: Harry D.
