There are alao IeVeral other sportsman contests that are just as exciting. One of these to be included is the 250cc Junior cl_ and in tonight's racing, Gene Northam took the winnin& honon. Northam had to battle Mike McMillen the entire way. Gene had the lead in the fint moto but was being followed closely by McMillen. The positions soon switched when McMillen rammed into Northam and got by. Gene said later, "I couldn't tell where he was on the barrel jumr. and then he just· ran into me." Pacing third in the fint moto was Jeff Bednon. A back and forth battle took place' in the fmal moto. Northam got the holeshot but McMillen got on by. Then Northam regained the lead as the two riden were moving over the TT jump - McMillen went off to the side and Northam got by. From here on out it was smooth riding for Northam as he held the fint place position. On the other hand, McMillen had a bad time and fell on the fmiah comer which moved him back into fifth_ Tim Kitchens finishes consistently every week and he was second ahead of Kin Goldie who is new in the line-up. On the official results it was Northam, McMi1Ien, Kitchens, Goldie and Joe Hauser. Ed Ott was the only rider in the Old Timer Master cl_ and he led all the Old TIlDen and Vets on his Yamaha. Husky-mounted Dickie McMillen from Whittier won the Old TJIDer Intermediate race while the Junior event fell into the hands of Jim Maxwell. Will Misener last the first moto of the Veterand Junior ~ to Alan Gerkey but came back in the fint moto for the overall. • Results 80 JR: 1. 0.....
