Moto two played to a different scenario as Banning quialy established
himself as the one to beat, pressuring
early leader Kirker, and opening a big
lead once out front. The battle for
second waged fast and furious as
Kawasaki-mounted
Gary
Jones
powered up to Kirker and Shoemaker
and made the race a three rider duel.
Banning clinched the overall as he
took the checkers well in front. Kirker
held to the runner-up position while
Jones picked up third and Sh;oemaker
placed fourth for the moto and second
overall.
Scott Boek piloted his Honda 450
Pro-Link to the Open Intermedia,te
win with a 1-2 score. Boek handily
topped the field in the first race but
tough competition from Yamaha rider
Peter Harrison dropped Boek to the
number two position in the second
moto. Harrison ended the day with
second place honors while Maico rider
Mike Kell picked up third overall.
