CN 7045 Darby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335 By Boyd Bass LOMASCO, TX, MAY 17 The Texas Cross County Racers Association hosted event number seven in this year's series at Sandy Creek Motocross Park. Owner Mike Dempsey had the five-mile loop well marked with the start-finish line on the motocross track. Heavy rains before the race soaked the course with most riders not riding any practice Saturday. Rain threatened Saturday night but never came. Due to the large turnout at TCCRA-sponsored races, classes are split. The Pro class and Expert classes raced first; eight laps were run instead of 10 due to the muddy conditions. Lap times averaged 17 to 18 minutes in the Pro class which made for a demanding race due to the rutted trail and numerous mud holes. Randall Tarter gassed his 420cc Husky to the win in the Pro class with a time of 121 minutes. Right behind Taner came David Greenhill and Mike Connell with a time of 125 minutes. In the Pro class you can run any size bike although an Open class machine is the most popular. In the Expert class. Randy White took the class win and big bike overall with a time of 127 minutes. Taking small bike overall was Rich Ricarddi on a 125 who outran Ted Elmne, the first 200cc Expert. In the Over 50 Expert class, motocrosser Jeff Kring finished well ahead of Phil Oliver. The minibikes rode a shorter course due to the conditions. In Senior Mini, David Macky took first over Jim Craine. In Junior Mini, Cunis Kirch· meker got the win. . • " Stay dry with a Cycle New Umbrella! TROUBLE FINDING PARTS7 GENUINE YAMAHA PARTS7 Large Inventory.
