With a new sharp right tum at the stan and a couple of other sections the riders were learning the track the hard way. An outrageously large pack of 125 Beginners sqeezed up against the staning gate. David Bolles of Low Bud Racing got the holeshot in the first moto and led till K~ith Coffman made the pass right in front of the grandstand. Those two finished the moto that way. In the fmal moto Ross DeHorns put the power to the ground and got the jump. Steve Graham caught up and executed the pass on the back jump. Soon Bolles made his way up to third and then DeHorns went down so the top positions were held by Graham and Bolles. The top positions went to Bolles, Francis Hu and Graham. VIP's Gary Renko had the first moto of the 250cc Beginner division one race to himself. Gary started out with the holeshot and as each lap went by he had a greater lead. Rick Levy had the second place spot till he washed out in a comer and Matt Mitchell and Marc Matson snuck by. The final moto was all turned around. Levy got the best start but Matson from The Hot Dog Building Co. took over the lead on the second lap and Mitchell, Renko and Levy followed. Mitchell, who was in second, hit the ground after the finish line and took Renko down with him. Levy advanced to second and Jeff Frost was now third ahead of Renko. A fine 3-1 score gave Matson the first place trophy over Renko, Levy, Frost and Mark Davenport. J. 9 , t.t.scrambles ,~ I • .
