In the 250cc Pro division. Craig
Gonnl~ (Yam) hit the double jumps
ahead of the pack. By lap two. Turner
again had wen the lead and there
was no stopping him. On lap six. jennings actually passed the second and
third place riden. Gonn1~ and
Snoneland, in mid air off Banzai Hill.
Yamaha'. Riclr. johnson, after a bad
stan. made his trac1r.s present and
pushed ahead of Snoneland and
Gonnl~ along with Suzulr.i·mounted
Clint Hardiclr.. Hardiclr. and Snone1and
hit the double jumps side by side and
Hardiclr. put an outside-in move on
Snoneland and took over third behind
jennings. Winding down to the last lap
and Hardick was up on jennings. Two
turns were remaining and Hardick
edged inside of jennings and th~ both
raced to the flag. Turner won by a
wide margin with Hardick second over
jennings by inches. Founh was Riclr.
johnson, then came Snoneland and

Moto two was much of the same.
Turner flew away with the win but this
time jennings won the batde and the
war with Hardick. Behind Turner's 1·
1 overall score were jennings (5 -2).
Hardiclr. (2·5) and Snoneland (5-4).
The line-up for the 125cc Pro class
was fairly respectable. Suzulr.i'. Turner
aDd George Holland III. Yamaha'.
Riclr. johnson. Riclr. Malr.i and Scott
Burnworth. Suzulr.i West'. Gary
Denton. Milr.e Beier (Yam) and 25
other competiton were just waiting to
hit that fint tum. Burnwonh and
Holland hit the top of Webco Hill
ahead of the rest but Bumwonh
dropped out with m«h a nica1 problems.
With Holland leading and Rick john.
son second, Turner was ready to ma1r.e
his move on johnson. and on lap five
he did so. Turner pulled up on
Holland and had no problem passing
him for the lead. As the race proogit;_d,
third place johnson. all the sudden,
just bailed off his lCoot. Fortunately
his lead over the rest of the paclr. was
enough for him to restan and resume
his charge. Chasing johnson for third
were Roger Hensl~ (Suz), Riclr. Malr.i
and Gary Denton. Holland staned
dropping off therace badly and eventually was out 0 the competition for
the top spots. Turner won with a oneminute lead over second place johnson.
Malr.i was third over Denton, Beier and
Friu Schelegal (Suz). Turner lapped
up the eighth place rider. Holland.
Moto two was a big moto for Mike
Beier. Although Turner made this his
sixth moto in a row, Beier combined a
5-2 combination for second overall.
Gary Denton'. 4-4 score was third best
with johnson (2-6). Holland and Malr.i
rounding out the top six.
