The The Goodyear 2381 soft compound dirt track tire has been approved by the AMA for use in short track and TT events only. The 2381 compound was withdrawn from use last yeer after controversy during the Harley-Davidson Dirt Track Sarles. The tira was on sale at this year's Houston Nationals although it was not AMA approved at the tima. Riders interested in attempting to qualify for a slot on the ISDT squad mwt submit a letter of intent to the AMA before March 21. To be eligible for selection a rider must compete in at least three National Championship Reliability Trials events. Letters should be sent to Kathy Wanta, AMA, P.O. Box 141. Westerville, Ohio 43081.
