(Continuedfrom page H) Siracusas 1·2 at DeAnza By Carol Campbell SUNNYMEAD, CA, FEB. 8 Cold grey skies and drizzle were not enough to call off some excel· lent racing at DeAnza Cycle Park. As th~ gat~ Int~rm~diates, 16 dropped on th~ 250cc it was X~nny Trask (Yam) out in front of Aur~lio Siracusa (Kaw), Jim Kohara (Mai) and Tony Siracusa (Kaw), but not for long. By th~ third lap, it was Pomona Vall~ Kawasaki rid~r Au~lio Siracusa taking ov~r th~ I~ad. T~ battl~ for ~ond was hot and h~avy ~tween Trask. Kohara and Tony Siracusa and on th~ whit~ flag lap, it was Kohara holding onto th~ ~ond plac~ spot. With only on~ lap to go, it was Tony Siracusa who totally got his act togeth~r. mak· ing a mov~ on not only Trask but Kohara as w~1l to finish ~ond ~hind his broth~r. ~ second moto found ~ Siracusa broth~n out in front. but this tim~ it was Tony I~ading th~ way. No matt~r how hard h~ tri~d, Au~lio Siracusa could not g~t around youn~r broth~r Tony. Siracusa was so intmt on ~ting around his broth~r, that ~ forgot about ~ third plac~ rid~r, Kohara, who was quickly closing in. Kohara mad~ his mo~ on Siracusa on th~ whit~ flag lap and held onto ~ond to t~ finish. It was Tony Siracusa taking hom~ t~ gold with a 2·1 and brot~r Aur~lio took ~ond o~rall with a 1·5. Kohara finishM third with a scor~ of 5·2. It was th~ only 250cc Ex~rt rid~r, K~n Campbell (C·A), pulling th~ hol~· shot ov~r all of th~ 250cc Pros as th~ gat~ drop~d on th~ fint moto, but br~athing down his n~k w~r~ Mark R~ha (Yam), K~ith Dysert (Kaw) and Gr~g Zitt~rkopf (Yam). Zitt~rkopf, coming from mid·pack, mad~ it look ~asy as h~ bl~ by Dysert and R~ha, I~aving t~m to dic~ it out for third. On his Advanc~ Cyck Machin~, Zitt~rkopf ~t his sights on Camp~lI, who now rides for Su~ Seer and AIISW~r Produeta. By t~ third lap, Zitkrkopf was knocking at Camp~ll's back door. As tbey _ into the downhill tum, Zitkrkopf mad~ his mov~ on I~d. w~r~ M~anwhil~, th~ insid~, taking ov~r th~ Dysert and R~ha busy sampling ~Anza's soil, which I~ft th~ door wid~ o~n for Gr~ Nash (Mai) to mov~ into third. It was Nash's tum now to set his sights on Camp~lI and for four grueling laps th~ battiM handl~bar to handl~bar, but it was Nash pulling out ~ ~ond plac~ finish ov~r Camp~lI with Zitt~r· kopf holding on for th~ moto win. Th~ ~ond moto found Pomona Vall~ Kawasaki rid~r Dysert out ah~ad of Nash, Zitt~rkopf and Camp· b~ll. By th~ ~ond lap Zitt~rkopf had mov~d into th~ second plac~ spot and for sev~n laps, th~ rac~ ~vOlvM around Dysert and Zitt~rkopf. Th~ pressur~ was on and as th~ halfway sign cam~ out, it was Zitt~rkopf making th~ sam~ mov~ on Dysert as h~ had mad~ on Camp~1l in th~ fint moto. It was Zitt~rkopf taking back to back wins and th~ ov~rall win ov~r Nash, Camp· b~1l and K~ith Dysert (Kaw). Results PeE WEE DIV I: 1. IIobby Oovid ISuzl; 2. Jeff Kno. tSuzl; 3. s.n Hunt lV.m).
