Davis and Bowman tried to keep a fast
pace as they battled to hang with Hall
and Jackman. Jackman's lead soon
disappeared as Hall took over firs! and
Bowman moved to second. Jay
Vancamp was moving through the
pack in an all-out charge and he
picked up third position. Soon
Vancamp moved by Bowman for
second. Hall took the win giving him
his two-moto clean sweep. Vancamp
finished second with Bowman taking
third.
Mark Parkers put the power of his
YZ250 to the ground to take back-toback moto wins in the 250cc Intermediate class Division 2. Darren Pritchett
pulled an early lead with Ed Sherman
and Jeff Lucas (Yam) chasing his
roost. Parkers shot into second with
Gary Sewell moving in rapidly. Sewell
soon overtook Parkers and sta rted his
chase after Pritchett, but went down a
short time later letting Parkers move
into second and Sherman to third.
Parkers made his move again and
passed Pritchett to grab the lead. Dave
Anderson (Hon) moved into the frontrunners' company and took second
position. Parkers kept his lead to the
finish for the first moto win. Anderson
took second with Pritchett finishing
third.
Mike Guash (Yam) grabbed the
second moto lead with Richard
Mancheck (Yam) and Tommy Gin in
hot pursuit. Gin shot by Guash and
began to pull a lead over his competitors. Parkers was now moving through
the pack after a poor start. Soon Parkers snatched second away from Guash
and set his sights on Gin. Little time
went by before Gin's lead was gone
and Parkers had the victory of the day.
Mancheck took second after giving the
leaders a run for their money.
Eric Risley (Yam) made his trip
from Santa Rosa worth the drive with
a pair of wins in the 125cc Junior
Divison 2 class. Risley took charge
early in the race and started working
on a commanding lead. RobbieJames
(Yam) and Sean Scott both chased
hard trying to keep with Risley's lead.
James and Scott bottled tooth and nail
to gain ground on Risley, but chances
were slim. Risley pulled his lead to the
end where he took the checkered.
James finished second wtih Scott third.
Greg Swearingen took command of
the second moto trying to put a stop to
Risley's hopes of victory. Risley and
James both fought hard as the rough
sand track began to take its toll on
many riders. Risley soon saw his
chance and overtook Swearingen for
the lead. James also moved by a tiring
Swearingen. Nick Silver moved into
the third spot hoping to get a chance
at the leaders. Silvers' third spot was
short lived as Bob Hendricks (Yam)
moved by to take third. Risley fmished
first taking the overall victory with
James taking third.
