Dale led the first moto of the 125cc Pros, but fell lame as a 125cc Intermediate nailed his front wheel causing Dale to crash and take over third place. This left Mark Denning (Yam) in the lead and he took the cbeckered flag with Dale taking second on tbe last lap just ahead of David McGhee (Yam). In moto two, Dale had little problem winning. Dale led from the boleshot to the flag with LOP rider Jeff Surwall (Yam) chasing in second. As the 14-lap event wound dQwn, Denning finally overcame Surwall for second and second overall. Dale's 2-1 score was good enough for the overall. The 250cc Pro class was tbe largest Pro class for the day with 22 entrants. Honda-mounted Jeff Jennings made short work of both motos as he won both with little trouble. In both mows, Lance Moorewood (Yam) led the field to the Webco hill, but lost ground as the moto progressed. Mow one saw Steve Banning (Yam) overtake secondplace rider Will Harper (Mai) as Harper dropped well off the pace due w a broken shift lever. Banning did finish second with Moorewood in third. In fourth place was Tony Gomez (Hon) who made a good charge on Moorewood for third, but Gomez ran out of laps. Moto two ended exactly the same for the top three spots resulting in the overall going to Jeff Jennings with his 1-1 score. Banning was second (2-2) followed by Moorewood (5-5). Will Harper and Ed Amet made up the top five. In the 250cc Intermediate contest, Brian Holdren (Yam) continued his winning ways by collecting what might be his last Intermediate win. Holdren scored a 2-1 to overtake Paul Bassett (Yam) who beat Holdren two weeks prior. In the Open Pro clash, Micky Dymond's 2·2 scores awarded him the overall monies with tough competiton coming from Will Harper, Las Vegas rider Kevin Davis and Matt Tedder (Yam). Harper won the first moto, but problems in moto two hampered his quest for the overall. This 'Was a big win for Dymond who is proving to be an up-and·coming fine competitor. Results MINI JR: 1. R.
