Spampinato almost ruined Locey's chances on the very first lap as he lost it off a new jump, bounced off Locey in the air, and went all the way into the fences at the top of the esses before finally falling off of the side of his Ya,maha. Locey went into the next turn aU out of control, tried to make the corner, and went down head first in a cloud of dust. By the time he pick.ed it back. up, he was in dead last. From there he began an all-out charge for the lead. He began picking riders off at the end of the pack. at will, until he was up to the front runners late in the race. Then he had to work around Coffey, Clark and Harper before finally tangling with Snorteland. When it was all over, Locey had ovenaken Snorteland as well, and had the moto win. Round two was a lot easier on Locey as he stayed with the front runners right at the start, then moved into the lead before the halfway point, and went on to another win. Snoneland could only trail in second, but he still pick.ed up the runner-up overall cash, while Clark and Ha~r battled for third overall. Clark slipped into third in the late laps, and took third overall. The California Racing Club will be starting their series of qualifiers in the next few weeks for the Anaheim Ama· teur Supercross, with the first round to take place at Indian Dunes, then moving all over southern California_ Check. ~th CRC for funhe.r details, and keep an eye out in Cycle News.
