By Tom Corley
IRVINE. CA, SEPT. 25
The R.A.C.E. is currently having
a Pro series and they are trying
to bring more Pro riders into the
weekly program. For the one
ends ur witb the most points at tbe
close 0 tbe series there will be a $500

Peterson. It should be interesting to
see wbo wins it all when tbe series
comes to a close.
Juan Benavidez has been coming
out to OCIR and this evening he was
after Todd Peterson. He came close
but Peterson won it overall. In tbe
first moto Benavidez got the jump and
held it to the end ahead of Peterson
and David Behlings. It all turned
around in the second moto and Peterson
was unstoppable as he led every lap.
Don Gibbons led Behlings the whole
time. When the two motos ended tbe
riders finished like this: Peterson,
Benavidez, Beblings and Gibbons.
Scott Cavness cracked his Suzuki's
frame last week and this time he had
troubles again. He was second in the
first 500cc Pro moto behind Bob Marino
but DNF tbe final race so Marino bad
to ride by himself. It was a similar
match race in tbe 1251"1" Pro race and
Peterson took two first place wins
ahead of Micky Dymond.
The KX Kid in the 1251"1" Beginner
division one class was Doug Hawkins.
Doug is fresb out of the Mini class and
be is doing better on the bigger bike.
He led the class in the first moto,
taking tbe win over Dave Blehm and
tbat sbould make supponer Captain
Marvel happy.
In the final moto
Blehm had an easy lead over Hawkins
and that ~ore gave bim the first place
trophy. The top finishing riders were
Blehm. Hawkins. Jeff Travis and Jose
