Bobby Ferro muscled a Triumph TR6 twin across 190 miles of desert to win the Joshua Tree to Parker Check Chase, where MilCh Mayes took first Trailbike honors. Jim Fishback took the 250cc class. while Donnie Emler beat Gary Jones in the one-two-fives. Arne Kring and Bengt Aberg, both on Huskys, placed 1-2 as the Inter-Am series moved to Pepperell. MA. Peter Lamppu beat John DeSoto and Barry Higgins for top American honors. Dave Aldana took to the Ascot half mile oval on a Triumph for the first time and beat Jady Nicholas (Nor) in the Expert main event. Action the following evening in Gardena saw Mark Brelsford (H-D) run away with the final TT of the year. Scott Brelsford won the final sportsman short track of the season at the Chris Beck arena in Santa Rosa, CA. 5
