Marsh masters OCIRMX By Tom Corley IRVINE, CA,JULY 10 T he crowd really ca me in for last week's specia l " Big Night Fo r Little Bikes." Already the pro- moters are putting toget her a few more special nights and they are plan. ning on having a series race in August . Most wou ld agree that this is a very good Mini track . It 's fun to whip around on. Ra nd y Skinner is a well known 125cc Intermediate racer but this time he decided to have a change of pa ce. What did he do? W ell he certainly didn't race a 500cc, but rather he entered t he Mini Intermediate competition. Skinner took his Betty's Baby Honda to a third place win in each moto and that's what he ea rn ed overall. A couple of fast NMA people were in front and this included Kurt Hendricksen (Yam) and Chris Taylor (Kaw) . Kurt won it both times while Chris followed . Lightnin' Linehan is sponsored by the friendly 7-Eleven store in Tustin. Linehan is really starting to win a lot and this should make his sponsor happy. (Actually it's his father .) He conquered the Mini Novice event over Steve West, Doug Hawkins , Scott Bu rns and Dave Roach . Scott Marsh continued his winning ways again and he defeated the 250cc Novice class. Marsh is just getting over a bad accident that he had awhile back. He overshot a berm and nearly landed on top of the am bulance. At least he didn't have to wait for medical attention . Marsh cleanly won this race with two first pl ace wins on his H onda. Winning the next place spots were: Bill Mahaffey, Ro n Pepper and Vincent Phillip pi. Don Gibbons is sta rting to make a ha bit of winning the 250cc Inter mediate class . He didn't have to battle TOPFUEL( I) SCHEDULE OF EVENTS SATURDAY, AUGUST 9 8 A.M. Gates O pen 8 A.M.-S P.M.
