Mark was especially impres- sive in the 500cc Main as he patiently pressured Jeff Mason and slipped into first late in the event. Jorgensen wrapped up his fourth of six Mains in the 250 show by grabbing one of his patented starts and sailing easily while everyone bumped and shoved behind him. Joe Knight appears to be back in form as he grabbed third and then followed Key for the secondmoney spot in the King Race. Billy Arbogast beamed after making his first Expert money by finishing fourth . David Boyles emerged as the man to beat in the 360 competition as he singed the troop~ for his third win in a row . Jim Mahoney was again second. Chris Carr easily won the small 100cc Expert-Main and the Mini King event on the Boss ND -sparked JB Racing Suzuki, but was a victim of over aggression on the start of the 80cc Expert Main while Kurt Chan?ler jumped to the front on the Salinas Kawaski and was never seriously threatened. Chris made some neat passes through th e pack for second while T ommy Knig ht took his Sta r-fra med Spinetti's Suzuki in for a strong third. When Bob by Black races, he usually does the job and tonight he swiped a nice 80cc Novice win from a hardcharging Brya n Taber. Scott Casey overca me his Lodi fall-offs to nail a penalty-ridden J u nior Main over Bod ie Shepherd . Scott mo ves ever closer to the Expert ranks. Newark's Doug Baber won the 125cc Novice Main over point leader Rob Du n ha m , and th en two extremely fast 250cc Novice heat winners - Jamie Mason a nd Ra ndy Fisher - squ ared off in the Main with Jam ie taking his Harley to a comfortable win . Charles Jones topped a very competitive 250cc Junior group with Dennis Houser and Shawn Black edging point leader Hal Hook who fai led to score points for the first time this season. Lodi 's jerry Lanning returned to the 500cc class this evening and picked up where he left off three weeks ago by outdistancing Joe Flowers in the Junior Main. Jerry has won every 500 Main he has ridden at Lodi this season. Stan Morris from Fremont beat out another of those "a ncient" BSAs by topping Randy Holycross in the Novice portion of the 500s . Lodi's feature race of this month comes up on Sunday night , May 25, with the running of the 14th Annual Archie Clark Memorial. Proceeds this year will again go to the AMA's hemophilia fund .
