going and made it to 1123 feet before
the mountain stopped him at fourth in
final standings.
The second round did not change
things much. Harrison got in trouble
and crashed at 900 feet. Bowlby and
the other riders using chains didn't
have enough traction and were running
out of go before they hit the rough.
Day felt good about his Yamaha's
chances when he came to the line for
his second try at the mountain. Before
he left the line , Day said he felt like he
was going over and when his ride ended.
he became the second man to top the
Widowmaker in 1980.
The mountain was conquered this
year and the Bee's have a hard job in
store. Can they come up with a bike-:
stopper for 1981?
