"Hey. a quarter'" - unidentified rider at Croll8Up.
their first moto the scoring was better,
partly because of their fewer numbers
and partly because those big guys had
carned an awful lot of the mud into
the pits with each rider exchange.
Randy Thomson and Mike Daniel
(Yam) set an insurmountable record.
They won b'oth motos (can't do much
better than that). Scott Prestwood and
Jim Moulton (Yam) picked up a
second in the first moto then
disastered themselves out of conten·
tion with a 10th for seventh overall.
Consistency paid off for J.D. Amen
and Les Link (Suz) with a fourth and
fifth for second overall.
Some credit should .be given for the
stamina of Tory Sappington (Hus)
whose partner, Dave Kannes, was
injured early in the first Heavyweight
moto. Tory not only finished that one
alone, he came back and rode the
second one alone and finished 14th.
Thanks to Les and Linda Link for a
neat day.
