Taylor won, Gillma n was second, Wanke t third then Jenning s, Staten, Turner and Johnso n. In moto two, Taylor kept up the unbelie vable pace but this rime Turner came up on top. Wanke t again picked up a third position with Staten and Clark Jones (Hon) in the top five. Taylor' s second place finish enabled him to win overall. Wanke t (!I-!l) was second ahead of Turner (6I), Staten( 5-4)an dJones (4-7). The 125cc Pro class was just as impressive a line-up as were the 250cc Pros. LOP's Gary Denton (Hon) grabbe d the holesho t in moto one with Chris Morey (Suz), John O'Mara (Mug), and Chris Heisser (Hon) in punuit . The field channe led up Webco Hill and O'Mara moved into second behind Denton . At one split second. O'Mara looked back and Heisser slipped by him into second place, then literally blasted past Denton and took the lead. The position up for grabs was fourth. Mike Tripes (Suz), Morey, Andy Northr up (Suz) and Bobby Sulliva n (R&D) were the four riden contest ing for the position. Tripes was able to hold onto fourth and at the finish turn. all in a matter of seconds. Morey bailed as did Northr up which meant Sulliva n took over fifth. The moto ended with Heiser runnin g away. Denton was a solid second. Mugen -mount ed O'Mara was third then Tripes, Sulliva n and Anahei m-Husk y mounte d Craig Dale. In moto two. Heisser started out with a bit of bad luck by being hung up in traffic coming ~ff the starting gate. O'Mara led the field along with Denton , Tripes and Turner . On lap six, Turner moved ahead of Tripes and Denton pulled within two seconds of O'Mara . The numbe r one 125cc rider (or 1980. Tripes, put his skills to work and tried all his tricks to get past Demon but to no avail. O'Mara won Blose. grabbin g the holesho t the first moto in the 250cc class, was followed by Rick Watmo re and David King. King took over second and David Crawfo rd grabbe d third as King fell in the valley. Crawfo rd develop ed bike Jroble ms and King, having work his way back up again. made his play on Blose. taking over first for the last two laps. The second moto Ron Watmo re took the lead, followed by Blose, Crawfo rd and King. Blose took Watmo re coming out of the valley and held it to the finish with King only half a bikelen gth behind . Tibbs and Phillips Todd McColl ough were first out in the 125cc Pros with McColl ough going down in the fifth tum. Blose got past Phillips below Sunshin e and stayed in the lead with Phillips right behind . McColl ough pulled the second moto holesho t followed by Blose. Crawfo rd and Dircks. Blose took first as they came up from the valley and Crawfo rd squeeze d by for second, giving Blose and second Crawfo rd rust, McColl ough third overall. Pat Eggrna n, Pat Kenned y. and John Janssen took first, second and third from the beginn ing of the 125cc Juniors ' first moto with John Janssen taking rust the second moto. Kenned y and Eggrna n fought over second with Eggrna n grabbin g it on the berm before the finish line. Keith Rich took first overall in tbe 125cc Beginn ers. with Jim Seeger second and Tony Leon third. - Our sweepstakes winner for this week were Wes Blair in rust.
