Jeff Jackson (250XR) is showing
nothing but improvement as he
campaigns that bright red Honda.
Jackson picked up third place and Bob
Decker on a 400 Yam YZ finished
fourth.
John Wilkey (ITI75) took a chance
and muffed it by being two minutes
early at the secret check. Wilkey
picked up a fifth place finish.
There were a few humongous downhills that gave everyone enough to
handle. Bob Huskey. an Oregon State
patrolman during his off hours, tried
on his first ever enduro. Bob usually
races the desert, but took a transfer to
Tillamook and is now finding out what
real mud is like. Huskey took an easy
spill down an abrupt short cliff just
prior to the fourth check. He was
going through the motions of "no
pictures please" when he slid to the
bollom, sans bike. Huskey is a
welcome addition to the regulars. Now
maybe we can keep the bridge clear
during the summer months.
Everyone liked the course, even Mr.
Trail, Bill Toman, said it was well laid
out. Everyone heaved a collective sigh
of relief. Bill has ridden the area for
years and knows it forward and rear.
Only one rider got lost. Jamie
Adams followed the wrong streamers
and was brought back to camp by
some bow hunters, but not before the
sweep crew had suited back up and
went out looking for him.
