In the 2!iOcc Pros, Marty MiII~r and Bobby Kline split moto victories, but neither could stay in th~ top 15 in their other ri~, which a11~ Cun McCuistion to grab th~ overall victory with his consist~nt 2-5 scores. Matt Devich, aboard ano~ Kawasaki, ~nt for second overall with his 5-7 rid~, ah~ad of Ron Watm~'s 7-5 third ovaall. In th~ Sponsman classes it was a tough day, as ov~r 650 rid~n ~~ going for th~ trophies up for grabs, with som~ classes having as much as four divisions befo~ th~ main n'ent. In th~ 60cc division, R&D Suzuki's Mik~ H~a1y took t~ win over Micha~1 Knapp and Many Rickard_ Mini Beginn~ saw Gary Ybarra, Alan Lippi~ and Eric Brune lead division ~, whil~ Rit:hi~ Pi~, MiIr.~ Brown and K~ Canada top~ the second. In t~ runoff, 10hn Bonacci pull~ ~ stops out of his Yamaha for th~ victory af~r a sixth in his qualifi~r, whil~ Alan Lippi~, MiIr.~ Brown, Mark ~ding and Gary Ybarra follow~. Two divisions of Mini Novices were run, and in thOle races, Randy Rush I~ the first ah~ad of Rick Houghtaling and Stn'e ~, while Don Turk def~at~ Frank Brondagg and James McManus in ~ Reond. In the final runoff, Frank Brondau took ~ win, abead of Mark Davmpon, Randy Rush. James McManus and J~ Barbacovi. A pair of Mini Intemmiiat~ Divisions ~ run, with the fint division going to Todd Campbell, follow~ by Rudy Dickinson and Tom Stout. Division two w=t to Pat Galan, Skip Godinez and Grodon Ward. whil~ the runoff was talt~n by Todd Campbell, ahead of Andy Ellis, Doug O'Donnell.
