The first California State Champion. ship was held indoors at the Los Angeles Spons Arena. That 1968 title went to Sonny Nutter, 24 who retired last season to take up car racing. The State Championship moved to Bakersfield for the next decade where Steve Bast won it year after year. In fact, Steve won that title six timet and All Championahip events are run the ume.
