catch and pass Heiberger without too much effort to take the moto win. Wosick decided not to come out for the second moto since he had also experienced bike trouble in the 250cc class and could not get 'himself mentally into the job of racing. Chandler was back for the second round, and although exciting to watch, he was not very impressive. While he rode with his typical flair, he was not able to pass Heiberger in the second moto and had to settle for third behind a disappearing Dean Wiggins on another Maico,. Twin brothers Lance and Larry Coleman of Stockton put on a good, show of riding in separate divisions of the 125cc Novice class. Larry rode to the win in both motos of division' one while his brother Lance put in a seventh and first to take third place in the division three event. Both brothers were riding Husqvarnas. This race was the second to last in the Ridge Runners 1979 season since the track is unusable during the winter months. The next and last race of the year at Watsonville will be held on October 7, Be there! again for the top spot. Steve Vickers (Hon) nailed second while Joe McCrummen (Hon) beat out Jim Sylva (Mai). Their performance was incrediblel In 250cc Novice Division I action, the Ambrecht brothers from Clearlake Park nailed first and second on their Suzukis while Wade Snodgrass, the Redding Rocket, tagged third in an unbelievable race.' Maybe Snodgrass will collect on his bet next time. A . combined 100cc Novice/IOOcc Mini/Powder Puff effort saw Kelly King from Oroville top the Powder Puffs on a Suzuki; 100cc Mini Mike Medrano jumped on a first with his Suzuki. Novice Brian Peterson, all the way from Burney, (Suz) landed 100cc numerouno. Four Suzukis raced for the 125cc Junior/Expert bucks; Bill Carlson, Chalma Roberts, Ken McKenzie and Chris Trapp. Citrus Heights' Chalma Roberts took it all with no second place winner. In the 125cc Juniors Robert Presley (Suz) had a tough go against John Frampton of Modesto on a "Big Dog"(?) for first. Fred Edwards got a third. Results Results VET NOV: 1.
