The 1l!5cc Intermediates have a new leader as Kevin Graves (Suz) took a second to David McGhee (Kaw) and moved into the point lead over the idle Randy Rodrigues. McGhee's come from behind victory moved this fast improving night rider into a vinual deadlock with Rodrigues for second in the standings. 'j . In the l!50cc Intermediates.. Peter Sampo really blasted the field with a two for two effort and now leaves both previous co· leader Mark Seymour and third place Ron Lounsbury way back. While Don Seay further solidified his h~ld on first place in the 125cc juniors, the real story is the meteroric I rise of Mike Monsegur, as the Suzuki rider has now come from 13th to third in just three weeks. Looks like more riders than just Seay have their eye on that beautiful ND Spark Plug Cham, pionship Jacked What with four weeks to go and these big Junior fields, nobody is picking a winneT yet in those 125cc Juniors as Mike Grove and Manny Leon are still right there too. The 250cc Juniors also produced some fire· works as Derik Walker blasted back for a tie-breaker second moto win over point leader Ron Laffranchi with second place point rider Ricki Grasser struggling in for a third overall. The win for Walker, his first overall of the year, moves the steady runner up into n a tight third place il) the ND standing. Finally, April Dunlap's Women's Open win moved her to within striking distance of season-long point. leader Glenna Canaris for that title and Ami Lemon's Mini Junior win moved this first year rider up to wit.hin striking distance of a second or ~hird place trophy in this year's ND Series. Not to be outdone, the ATCs staged . their u~ual brand of mayhem since now with their "own" track, and set up dry as they like it, lots of wheel banging, lead changes, etc., are going on in each class and many new winnen. Class of the night was the li3-132cc Modifieds where "Mighty Mite" Steve Wright squeaked out a real close one over Tom Gajan and Perry Thompson to move from eighth to fifth in -that very 'competitive class. Perry Thompscin's third place moves him very close to the idle point leader Todd Tierney for the class title. The 91-112 Modifieas saw Ken Stroud hang on for a second place overall to break out of the point'deadlock with Craig Berendes, as Berendes was not with it all night and finished fourth overall.
