with four more shows left in the ND
Series. The 1l!5cc Intermediates have
a new leader as Kevin Graves (Suz)
took a second to David McGhee (Kaw)
and moved into the point lead over the
idle Randy Rodrigues. McGhee's come
from behind victory moved this fast
improving night rider into a vinual
deadlock with Rodrigues for second in
the standings.
'j
. In the l!50cc Intermediates.. Peter
Sampo really blasted the field with a
two for two effort and now leaves both
previous co· leader Mark Seymour and
third place Ron Lounsbury way back.
While Don Seay further solidified his
h~ld on first place in the 125cc
juniors, the real story is the meteroric

rise of Mike Monsegur, as the Suzuki
rider has now come from 13th to third
in just three weeks. Looks like more
riders than just Seay have their eye on
that beautiful ND Spark Plug Cham, pionship Jacked
What with four weeks to go and
these big Junior fields, nobody is
picking a winneT yet in those 125cc
Juniors as Mike Grove and Manny
Leon are still right there too. The
250cc Juniors also produced some fire·
works as Derik Walker blasted back
for a tie-breaker second moto win over
point leader Ron Laffranchi with
second place point rider Ricki Grasser
struggling in for a third overall. The
win for Walker, his first overall of the
year, moves the steady runner up into
n a tight third place il) the ND standing.
Finally, April Dunlap's Women's
Open win moved her to within striking
distance of season-long point. leader
Glenna Canaris for that title and Ami
Lemon's Mini Junior win moved this
first year rider up to wit.hin striking
distance of a second or ~hird place
trophy in this year's ND Series.
Not to be outdone, the ATCs staged
. their u~ual brand of mayhem since
now with their "own" track, and set up
dry as they like it, lots of wheel
banging, lead changes, etc., are going
on in each class and many new
winnen. Class of the night was the
li3-132cc Modifieds where "Mighty
Mite" Steve Wright squeaked out a
real close one over Tom Gajan and
Perry Thompson to move from eighth
to fifth in -that very 'competitive class.
Perry Thompscin's third place moves
him very close to the idle point leader
Todd Tierney for the class title. The
91-112 Modifieas saw Ken Stroud
hang on for a second place overall to
break out of the point'deadlock with
Craig Berendes, as Berendes was not
with it all night and finished fourth
overall.
