Two fine rides combined with a little luck were on Bauer's side while his chief competition, LOP's Gary Denton (Yam) and DG's John Greenway (Hon), both ran into more than their share of trouble. In moto one, Denton grabbed the lead early and started to pull away with Jerry Raymer (Yam), Greenway, Brent Blount (Yam) and Bauer following, By lap two, however. Bauer was in a distant second place, Two more laps and he was almost within striking distance of the leader. then Denton made his task easier by getting his front brake cable snagged and falling. In the meantime, Greenway had worked his way up to third and was making very good time when he went down. He had been taking an unusual line through a rough section which caused his front wheel to partially unlace itself. putting him out of the top runners. Bauer went on to win the race with 20 ~conds on Raymer and 40 seconds on third place Bill Keefe. (Yam). Round two saw Denton share his bad luck with Raymer in the first tum where they both tangled and fell. Bauer followed Blount for a lap and then took the lead and walked away with it. Denton remounted and managed to catch up to third place before the end of the race. but that was only good for fourth. overall behind Bauer. Blount and Keefe. The 125cc Pro clash was much closer. Andy Orescanin (Suz) led Danny Burtt (Suz) and Craig' Dale (Yam) through most of the first moto while Denton, still having his rotten luck, worked his way up from the back of the pack after colliding with another rider on the line. Denton madr it up to fourth place before he dropped out with tran.srnission trouble. On the same lap. Dale was catapulted into the lead when Orescanin stalled his bike and Burtt dropped back because of a slowly seizing machine. Burtt held on to second as long as he could, but Orescanin was soon back near the top and he passed Burtt's sputtering machine easily. Orescanin put iii a hard drive in the final laps to close on 'Dale. but at the finish line. the Yamaha was still on top. In the next molO, Burtt's RM, which had been torn down between races, pulled the holeshot, but didn't make one lap before it locked up, this time for good. That left Orescanin with the lead and Dale not far behind. The two of them bauled right to the end and at the checkered flag, it was Dale in front by a hair. Overall •.it was Dale. Orescanin, Rick Stout (Suz), Keith Williamson (Suz) and Chris Swanik (Kaw). • Results MINI NOV: 1. Joe Rincon (Kawl; 2. Danny W_idt IY"",I; 3. Jim McManuslSuzl. MINI NOV: 1. Jeff S - e r l1(awl; 2.
