John Greenway (H on) and Redlands Su zuki ri de rs Danny Burtt and Marty Miller took the top three spots with little trouble while DG's Ste ve Baue r (Suz) had to work his way up through die pack to fi n ish fourth . Putting in a ve ry impressive rid e was roo kie Pro Br ent Blount who fin ished fifth a head of An dy Orescanin (Suz). The consy was taken by Kenny Zahrt (Suz) over Da ve Rose (Suz) and Ho llie . At the start of th e money race. Denton did his usua l holeshot number and was soon walking awa y with the lead. T he first lap hard luck list was topped by Turner, who carne off the line in nearly last ; C riewe , who turned around and started going in the wrong di rection in the first tu rn ; and Bauer, who stopped to play in 'the mud and then retired. Rose and Orescanin also had a hard tim e making it around the first tim e . But back up in front , Denton was on the gas with Zahrt, Greenway , Burtt and Miller in pursuit. Miller kn ifed under Burtt and started to work on Greenway on the second lap. They went into the turn . side by side but only Miller carne out as Greenway highsided and fell back to 13th place. Then Miller started to work on Zahrt and the two were soon engaged in an all out war. Zahrt • seemed to gain ground over a sect ion of five closely spaced jumps by flying over them two and sometimes three at a tim e, but Miller would quickly make up the lost time in the tighter sections. On the sixth lap. Miller finally took lcover the second spot. By that time however , Denton had built a 10 second cushion and th ere was little chance that Mille r could make it up . After being passed . Zahrt let h is co ncentration slip and soon Bu rtt was knockin g on his d oor. After a brief di ce . Zahrt fell a nd Bu rt t m oved up to th ird , but on the very next lap T urner carne up from th e rear and sta rted to ch allenge Burtt for his new posit ion . O n the last lap Turner slip ped inside of Burtt a nd passed him . Bu rtt went do wn when T u rner got by, but he remounted before fift h-p lace Zahrt could ca tch up . Denton cruised in to firs t place and the lion 's share of the purse m oney whi le Miller and T u rner .followed at equal int ervals. Results MINI BEG: 1. Randy Hargreve IVeml: 2.
