Deana Lynch holeshot the first moto with Terry Lozano and Dena Paugh close behind . When Lozano mi s-shifted, Paugh got the break she needed to take second. At the sight of th e white flag, Paugh pressured Lynch a nd moved in front. Lynch went down when she tried to take it ba ck in the final ess, and Lozano fin ished second. Lynch aga in took th e early lead out of the second gate, with Lozano right on her tail. Paugh snapped her clutch and rode the course, stuck in low gear, as she watched the battling duo of Lynch and Lozano fly by. Lozano shot th e inside of the m in i sweep to take the lead . As she sta rted to put some ground between herself and Lynch , she spu n ou t of control. long enough to find Lynch breathing down her neck.
