Indian Dunes turned on the lights over the Internati on al tr a ck for Cal iforni a Racing Club's Friday night motocross. Taking th e top Pro m on ey was Crossroads Suzuki 's Chip Johnson in the 125s, Can -Am's Donnie Hansen in th e 250s , and Col e Bros. Mai co's Andy Jannings in the 500cc . In the 125s Mark Moscrop look ed like th e man to beat after his first moto romp over Dana Berg, Richard Bunch , David Baker and Tim Simons, but Johnson cam e back from his first moto sixth to win the second round . A fou r-way tie emerged at th e end of th e moto for t he , ov erall win, and johnson's 6-1 defeated Baker's 4 -3 . Berg's 2-5 and Moscrop's 1-6. In the 250s, it was all Donnie Hansen and Mark Gambetta running 1-2. Hansen led both motos wire-to wire, and Gambetta rolled in second each time ahead of John Drury and Mark Parkerson. Maico -rnounred Andy Jannings came off of a slight layoff to capture the Open Pro overall with a pair of moto wins. Running a consist ent second the en t ire way was Steve Rawson, riding for IMC Yamaha . Steve Richard picked up third wit h a pair of threes. In Intermed iate acti on Don Peca roll ed over th e Open class wit h Billy H a ndal a nd Jerry Whi te in to w. Bob Shimp ba gged a win in t he 250s with a 1-2 score to d e fea t seco nd- m oto winner Skeeter Marks . Dan Moore picked up thi rd. For th e 125s Richa rd Isin g's co nsiste nt 4 -2 pla cings ea rned him th e overall ahead of Steve Sh over's 2-5 a nd seco nd moto winner Eddi e Gr een 's g-I .
