The Expert class . seem ingl y larger
every race meet . was d ominated b y
Lanky Larry Shoemaker. In both
mot os Larry leaped 10 th e front of th e
pack. taking a clean holes hot and
ex tendi ng his lead by a comfortable
margin before settling down . Appearing effortless. Lanky Larry won both
mOlOS going away. The duel for
second place was fought by two riders
whose lap times were o nly tenths
apart. Rollover R ick rolled in to finish
second in moto one. but was overruled
by Stu bby Steve in the tiebreaker
seco nd moto when Steve took second
out of the gate and went on to finish
that way (3·2) for seco nd place. Rollover Rick settled for third with a ta lly
of2-3 .
T he Amateurs matched th e Experts
in number and used the tra ck at the
same time. going ou t of the gate a few
seconds after the Experts were turned
loose . In' the first moto Dinky Den ny
pic ked up the lead and ran with it .
almost catching up to the group of
Experts ahead of him . Following a few
seconds behind but not really a chal -,
lenge to him was Amos Andy (a new
member). Slimy Steve. who had 10
work his way up from the middle of
the pack. brought up third . They went
on 10 finish rnoto one in that order. In
moto two it was Flaky Frank who flew
fleetingly to the front but was unable
to hold off a determined Dinky Den n y
who drew past h im in the second lap to
take the lead and go on to win with his
I -I sco re. Amos Andy worked h is way
through traffic from a sixth place start
to finish second for the second overall
spot. With a lot of flair and not m uch
fanfare . Slimy Stev e turned a seventh
out -of-the -gate start to a decent third
place finish scoring a total of 3·3 for
third overall.
The Intermediates were given a flag
start from in front of the gate with the
Novice class behind the gate 10 foll ow.
When the green flag dropped the race
to the firs t turn was won by Hold -itHarry who held the lead until it was
taken by Varmit Vic a nd then given
back at the finish line . While the front
runners vied for the lead. Kwik Keith
worked his way through tr affic fro m a
seventh place start to second place as
the checkers waved . The start of moto
-two was the same as the first with
Hold-it Harry leading for one lap.
then giving it up to Varmit Vic who in
turn gave it up to Drafty Dennis. Also
coming through th e pa ck . as in the
first moro , hard riding Kwik Keith
caught up to 't h! leader just at the
finish lin e. Although he d idn't fini sh
first in either m oto , he deservedly won
first overall with his 2·2 fin ishes. Holdit Harry took second. place with his 1·4 .
Bringing up thi rd with a 4 -3 was
Varrn it Vic. Drafty Dennis garn ered
fourth for his fin e efforts (8· 1).

Novic e Just Jim jetted 10 th e front .
extend ing his lead with each lap and
even caught up and mingIed with th e
upper class Intermediates. Leading
th e rest of th e pa ck and in second
place was Nee -hi Norm. Moto two was
a re -run of moro one. Just Jim went on
to take the win with his I -I score. Nee-hi
Norm chalked up 2·2 for secsnd place
fallowed by Bye Bye Bob .
