FEB . 25 Saddleback's International course set the scene for the last of the four National MinicycIe Asso ciation Winter Nationa l' Kawa saki Series races. After a few m in or delays, a fu ll day of racing got underway. As the 83cc Stock Experts left th e gate, it was none ' other than R&D rider George Holland (Suz) leading the way with teammate Chris Morey (Suz) and Troy Blake (Kaw) running in third with Eric Collins (Yam) hot on his ta il. Blake. and Morey were busy p laying ca t and mouse for the second and th ird place spots. whil e Holland continued to extend his lead . Mean whil e , Mark Meredith (Suz) and Erik " Ea rt hq u a ke" Kehoe (Yam ), comi ng from the back of the pack. had worked their way past Louie Franco (Ya m) and Eric Collins and inherited the third and fourth place positions as Blake decided to ch eck on soil samples. It was a wire to wire win for Holland with More fini sh ing second . Meredith and Kehoe fin ished in th e third and fourth place spots . The second moto found Holland and Kehoe neck and neck off the sta rt and pulling away from the rest of the pack. It was Holland getting the lead over Kehoe but Kehoe never let off the throttle for a second. The battle for the lead went on for three breath taking laps until suddenly Kehoe went down hard. bumping him all the way down to 12th and out of content ion . Meanwhile; Mark Tomaselli (Yam) moved into t he seco nd place spot followed by Blake and Meredith. There was no ca tch ing Holland . who had at least an eight-second lead over the second place rider. It looked as though Blake would finish in ' the third pla ce spot until bike problems ended his chances for t ha t honor and again it was Meredith who slipped into tfiird behind Tomaselli's second place finish. It was . Holland tak ing the overall win with a I - I score. Meredith finished with a 3-3 for sec ond overall and Tomaselli took home third place honors with a 6-2 finish . Me redith (Suz) pulled the holeshot in the first moto of the Modified Experts. but before they reached Webco Hill, 'he was passed by Holland , Kehoe, Morey and then Blake, bumping him all the wa y back to fifth. Holland could do no wrong as he began to exten d his lead over Kehoe and Morey. The only hope Kehoe and Morey had was maybe Holland would b ite the dust or have bike problems. but no such luck. It was a flawless , well - ridden race for the young man from Kerman , CA . The second moto was like a carbon co py of the first as Suzuki-mounted Holland started pulling away from the rest of the pack. Kehoe held onto a solid second with t he biggest battle MOTORCYCLE IGNITION PARTS BUY WITH CONFIDENCE ........
