Northwest riders are out to prove
they 'll race under any conditions.
The third race of the Winter
Series a t S.I.R. was a wet one

and Mini Junior ri der Bill Weiland
from Kent earned the "Mr. Muddy"
award for the d ay : Bill stopped in the
opening tum for a few seconds and his
bike al most sank in the swamp .
The 250cc Pro race was a free-for all with 15 riders ch u rning ou t of the
chu te at the same time. First moto was
co ntrolled by Pa t J acobson (Suz) .. Bill
Joyce (Suz) and Bla in e Elledge (Hus)
f rom sta n to fi nish . Secon d ti me
around it was J oyce , J acob son and
Elledge. right u p to th e last la p ; but
Joyce decided to do a little timber
cruisin' , All the motos were exciting to
watch - muddy and fast. When the
overall results were fina lly posted it
was J a co bson , Elledge and Yamaha
mounted Tom Poage in third.
Ku rt Grinnell (Suz) aced the 125cc
Interrnediate. class for two motos. The
Port Angeles rider has found some
super lines around that track and
makes every second count. Follow ing
in the. next spots wer e Mark Albright
(Suz) with a 2-2 score and Dan Daniels
from Ol ympic Yamaha scooped up
third overa II.
