Don't get me wrong; I stand up and salute the Duck for everything he has done. In fact, I even sent money to aid in his fight. But I really don't think it's fair to classify him with the likes of Kenny Roberts, Steve Eklund , etc. Rider of the Year ' should be awarded to someone who is outstanding in the field of motorcycle .racing where skill, talent and ability are a determining factor. The .P ha n tom Duck should be a candidate for something like "Outstanding-c.] , contribution to motorcycling". or the ' ,"BLM butt kicker" award . . n Let's keep the ROY award for the guys who have been out racing every .weekend , traveling thousands of miles , and to different countries to do 'wha t they do best and love most: race to win.
